Hi, I’m The Good Food Teacher.
I am a qualified Food Technology teacher with a background in hospitality and a lifelong passion for cooking.
After years of working with food, I made the decision in 2020 to return to university and turn that passion into a career in education. Since then, I have combined practical industry experience with classroom teaching to help young people develop confidence, independence, and real-life food skills.
This website started as a way to bring together the kind of resources I wished I had more of as a food teacher. Practical, realistic, curriculum-relevant materials that actually work in busy classrooms.
Here you will find teaching resources, recipe ideas, nutrition guidance, food science support, practical lesson inspiration, and useful content designed to support Food Technology teachers, trainee teachers, and anyone delivering food education.
As a food technology teacher, I know the challenge of balancing curriculum demands, practical preparation, nutritional accuracy, budget pressures, and the reality of limited time. My aim is to create resources that are genuinely useful, whether that means lesson support, recipe inspiration, revision materials, or practical teaching ideas.
Alongside teaching resources, you will also find accessible recipes and food content designed for real life, because good food education should not stop at the classroom door.
My approach is simple. Food should be practical, achievable, nutritious, and enjoyable. Whether you are teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, planning KS3 practical lessons, supporting hospitality and catering students, or simply looking for reliable food inspiration, I hope you find something useful here.
Because good food should build confidence as much as it fills plates.
